Pros

- People are generally nice - Nice Vancouver office located near waterfront - Comprehensive extended health benefits - Remote work - Work from home allowance

Cons

- As many have pointed out here, there is definitely growing pains given the rapid amount of acquisitions in the last two years. - For a tech company, the company certainly doesn't run like a tech company. Most of the software used are outdated and processes are very manual and inefficient. - There is a lack of communication within the company. Rather than commuting and being transparent, the leadership and management assumes people 'just know'. - Work life balance doesn't exists here. As the company continues to grow, and employees leave. The positions don't get back-filled and advocating for new hires can be difficult. Leaving current staff overloaded. - Compensation is not competitive and annual raises are minimal - Lack of career growth. The company has advocated career growth. However the actual tasks and work experience seems to be pretty entry level and don't align with the job listing. You can be hired for one thing but end up doing something not related to what you were originally hired for - The company seems to be hiring a lot more top level positions. When clearly other positions should be filled first. - The company seems good on paper and will say things that sound promising, however once you are 4 months in you'll realize it was all for optics and cant help but feel like you were bait and switched - No employee stock options for new employees. Typically one of the major benefits of working at a tech company is stock option benefits. Don't expect any here. - Lack of support from management and not a lot of autonomy in how you do your job

Pros

Nice Vancouver office. Legacy staff is very welcoming and helpful.

Cons

No career growth, your performance is based on anecdotes and speculation. Clearly a drive to IPO at all costs, cutting core engineers and adding more bloated VP positions. Everything is centered around outside optics and how the sale of this lucrative technology can be maximized. 10+ companies have been acquired in the last 2 years. Most of the technology has been piecemealed into other offerings and the original staff is treated like an afterthought. If you are anything but a new student you will likely digress coming here, so be prepared. More engineers would be walking out the door if the economy wasn't in shambles.
