Pros

Great people for the most part. Fair commission structure. If you have a pulse, they will probably hire you.

Cons

Lots of lead generating activities in the beginning of employment such as trade shows. This seems to only happen when they have new hires, to get them excited. Then you are left to re-work old recycled leads that have already worked unsuccessfully. You are expected to find your own leads or troll through files looking for old clients who might buy something else. You are expected to sell overpriced goods and services to frightened seniors. You are expected them to sign them up for payment terms on cemetery at close to 10% interest rates. If they don't, they are selfish for "burdening" their families. Training was a joke. As a previous former employee said, you are shuffled around and there isn't a lot of structure. You will be regailed with stories about how much "so and so" made last year and how you can make sooo much money. You could also get struck by lightening or win the lottery, so you never know I guess.

Pros

Front Office staff was nice and the cemetery is a beautiful setting - they do offer a training allowance for up to 8 weeks but with me they stopped after 6 weeks but gave another person the additional 2 weeks - training pay is stated as $500 Net but it is only $350 Net

Cons

The company deliberately misleads you regarding training, commission, leads, funerals and misrepresents potential to make money. Training is lackluster at best and poorly delivered. Most times during training you end up moving several times in a day as there is no designated office space or conference room. They spend more time promising training than delivering it. They also promise training on funerals but after 3 months I gave up asking for it. The bum deal is that in order to successfully sell to clients and make money you need to be able to offer both cemetery and funeral. Also, they give all the at-need cemetery arrangements to one person and it should be offered to all employees so you stand a fighting chance of surviving. In the beginning (training) they offer you 50% commission when you go out on an appointment with a seasoned employee but what they fail to tell you is that the seasoned rep gets 50%, the branch gets 25% and you only get 25%....just another lie. The leads they provided are good in the beginning - that is deliberate so that they get you excited and making appointments - remember at this point you are only seeing 25% commission - I believe this is a scam so that you boost the branches sales and the seasoned sales reps. After about 2 months the quality of leads disintegrates - these leads are continually recycled so you are calling people who have already made it clear they are not interested. Staff turnover is very high - in the 3 months I was there, 3 employees walked out the door. The staff is very rude, belligerent and condescending. In the last week there I went to 3 appointments - 2 were individuals who had been visited several times and had no interest in making arrangements and the 3rd appointment was to a crack house - Yes, you heard that right - this goes to the quality of leads. When you leave, all of a sudden you have to wait a year to get any commission owed. Bottom line here is that what they really want is you to bring in family and friends so that they boost their sales. STAY FAR AWAY!

Pros

1) If you have already established centers of influence or a natural market you probably could do well. 2) Computer equipment provided

Cons

1) Commission Structure is poor 2) Bonus is a joke 3) "Outstanding comprehensive training program" there is no training . . . self taught or bring your own skills 4) Support from management is a joke and passive aggressive 5) No potential for advancement or individual development plans that are advertised are non-existent 6) Dysfunctionality goes on between Funeral and Cemetery Divisions
