You join Arcadis for the job and stay for the people. I have worked with amazing people and have learned so much.

Cons

Long working hours with little recognition. Staff have taken on more responsibilities since 2020 without promotions and minimal yearly increases.

Arcadis does have a rewards and recognition system where employees can receive recognition as well as bonuses based on performance. If you have not done so already, maybe a conversation with your line manager to see if this can be utilized more could help in this area.

Poor Mentorship, Training, and Career Development

good variety pays set rate for overtime on salary positions. Starting PTO 3 weeks

Cons

0 training for new hires. expected to figure it out yourself. quickly thrown into high responsibility situations. the Role of management for lower grades (g5) constantly shuffling between multiple people who are all brand new to a Management role. issues with proper communication and documentation of field work. issues with proper preparations, planning, and and database management, general orginization. "point the finger" type culture when issues arise. Lack of checks and balances. individual project teams are run in an hierarchical manner. no work life balance. inconsistent scheduling. Resource management all around poor. If you start as a fieldworker, expect to be working mainly with individuals 22-26 years old who vary widely in their ability to complete the basic functions of the job. Turnover rate is astronomical. pay is low compared to offerings from other companies

Pros

Supervisors will generally try to work with you when you say you need something. Insurance is decent. 401k is 5% matching. People in the company are in general friendly and professional.

Cons

You dont get promotions or raises unless you bug your managers a lot. Bonuses are extremely rare. You pretty much have to find your own work and do your own networking. Some project managers are penny pinchers so if youve been around awhile they might replace you with someone new to save money on a project.
