      Pros

      The company has a truly "family-like" culture. The benefits are market competitive and the people are committed to do a "good" job when management gets out of the way.

      Cons

      Doesn't leverage its spend, customers or non-competitors to reduce its product & service cost(s). Too many business silos that are managed by the wrong stakeholders.

      Pros

      In my experience, the best "pro" for me was that fact that I did not have any "micro-managers". In the 28 years I was with them, I moved from position to position. They were very good at accommodating employees when needed. The pay and the benefits were very good.

      Cons

      I will admit to making a mistake in the performance of my job, I believe that is what got me laid-off. After 28 years of excellent "annual performance reviews", I was not even ask about the mistake I made, I was just let go. I understand the "down turn" in the industry, but I still think I should have been ask about what happened before I was let go.
