Mass layoffs across the organization typically in the 4th quarter each year. No raises for 5 years, oh except that 1% bump we got a couple years ago. Bonus plan is a joke because it is impossible to understand or track and employee has no control over their personal results.. Management utterly fails to communicate to the employees what their objective. No IT support, but masses allocations for IT are charged to business units.

This was a very strange place to work. The Chicago office sits virtually empty and separates the executives to a separate side of the office was, which makes it very siloed. When I was there, the company was in the process of being bought out by Brookfield so literally every conversation was put on hold, raises were not really given, just a huge holding pattern of waiting for the buyout to finalize. Many people left in 2023 including an entire division of the insurance company. Management is awful. Most people I worked with were rude and condescending on a daily basis.
