Pros

Made a difference in the lives of students and their families. Remodeled office. Most peer employees were encouraging, friendly, and helpful. Excellent health insurance with access to Mayo Clinic. Tuition benefit. Lively work atmosphere on campus.

Cons

Deeply unprofessional, childlike management from the very top down. Gossip, nepotism, and threats are constant. Decisions often made without the input/knowledge of entire management team. Nothing you say to anyone will be kept confidential. Trusted employees are instructed to spy on and report on less favored staff. Any pushback or unwillingness to engage in immature/unprofessional behavior is seen as insubordination. Invasive questions about employees' personal lives. Management can be sweet as pie when they want something, then cold and calculating the next moment. Expected to work extremely long hours (12+ hour days are the norm, not the exception) often without a meal break. Want to use your sick/vacation time? Fine, you're still expected to work. Want to use your tuition benefit? You will be heavily discouraged from doing so. Management sees more highly educated individuals as a threat. There is SIGNIFICANT turnover in this office for very good reason. Those who stay are generally ASU graduates who have no other professional experience. You will not be promoted unless you are a favorite.

Pros

The medical benefits are very good.

Cons

Apart from professors and the most senior officers, this is a non-inclusive female organization at the operational level with no tolerance for any males over 25 or white or extroverted males under 25. They hire a few young entry level black, Hispanic and gay men for diversity appearances, provided they are sufficiently introverted and pitifully submissive.

Pros

This is strictly a review for EdPlus. Flexible, innovative (and not just the buzz word, it really is innovative), solid mission, good leadership, lot's of opportunity to grow and learn. Great health benefits.

Cons

This is strictly a review for EdPlus. Pay is unequal and is not based on your level of education, ability, productivity, or achievements, but who you know.
