Pros

- The weather in Tempe is nice and there are some good remote opportunities

Cons

- The will chew you up and spit you out. You will make less here than you would waitressing, even with a doctorate From them.

No freedom or trust

Pros

The students can be inspiring, particularly those who are first gen or who have worked really hard to get into college.

Cons

Administrators treat students like customers and teachers like retail workers. There's no trust placed in the decision-making abilities of faculty, and students are given free reign to do whatever they please with zero consequences. It might be a good place to build up a year or two of experience, but you are not going to find your academic future as an educator here.

Pros

Can be flexible depending on the department/unit you work for.

Cons

Salary will never compare to private industry. There is a 60% in-person requirement. Parking is expensive.
