-Staff is friendly and helpful -Diverse staff backgrounds so plenty of creative ideas -Health benefits are excellent

Cons

-Work/life balance is very poor. Trying to juggle personal life and work life can be very challenging. -Departments have their lines drawn in the sand, and getting them to work together can be rage inducing. -Pay is on the low end compared to many other large universities. -High turnover rate for many positions, while others are filled with people who have been milking the system for all that its worth for years, sometimes decades. This results in tasks being pushed off to others to avoid the lazy/incompetent workers.

Great students; quality educational programs; open to innovation and new ideas

Cons

ASU's "at-will" employee status for Management staff is a real drawback. Even when you earn the highest of performance reviews consistently, they can decide to reorganize your unit for no justifiable reason and you are suddenly unemployed. The other state universities and the community college systems do not operate this way.
