      Come for the Benefits...but that's it

      Pros

      The work pace / demands are pretty chill. Independence to do your work how you like. Coworkers are usually great. Great benefits. Generous tuition discounts.

      Cons

      Pay is laughably low + no COL adjustments, & merit raises are few & far between & stingy (2.5%). You're stuck at 2 weeks vacation time for the first 2 years & that's not negotiable. Nearly impossible to advance - so many team & unit leads have been sitting in their jobs for a decade, so there's nowhere for you to go up, even with year over year great performance reviews. Most jobs you are supposed to come in to the office at least 3 days a week.

      Matt Smith in OPB is a horrible employee.

      Pros

      Benefits are ok, unless you have a medical condition.

      Cons

      Matt Smith has cleared out his office of planning and budget 3 times in 2 years. People cannot stand him. He fires them for age, making too much money. He promotes the pretty girls and spends a lot of time with them on an off campus.

      Flexibility to work remote some days, great state benefits and retirement package

      Cons

      Pretty much everything else. Pay not competitive, culture is highly toxic. Mandates. Leadership tripping over each other to be the most woke. Leadership lies.
