Pros

Pros - Lax dress code, good people working with you usually, and it's not a terrible job. Sure, we have our busy moments, but all in all, it's not that stressful for 7 months out of the year. You also get to meet pretty important people like Lucy Hawking (Stephen Hawking's daughter). Also, in my specific position, I have a fair amount of autonomy to get things done how I want and when I can.

Cons

I know Arizona is in a budget crisis, but downsizing the workforce and then expecting everyone else to pick up the slack without any type of raise is horrible. For the last 4 years, we haven't even received cost of living increases. My area of support used to have 26 people taking care of over 10,000 machines. Now, we have 8. For 4 years, I have maintained the only perfect customer rating in our group with one person, me. I don't know if I can continue providing excellent support for no salary increases or even opportunities to move up the food chain. Lately, the level of work has shot through the roof and I can't keep up - even when informing management of the problems I face.

Pros

It's a job in a tough economy Many students seem hungry for learning Nice campus surroundings Nice winter weather Easy to get around

Cons

Large class sizes Students vary tremendously from very bright to those who don't really belong in college or should have more remedial courses. As a result, one teaches to the middle which loses half the class (those above and those below).

Call Center Job

Pros

Benefits, tuition waive for undergrad

Cons

Ed Plus Success Center Review. This is a call center, you are micromanaged on every word you speak. You are torn apart , picked to pieces they like to have meeting with all staff to listen and pick apart calls. They have supervisors that will play your call at team meetings to be picked apart. They are tacky and are always looking for something wrong until they find it. The director is stand offish and not friendly. High turn over rates, you make calls back to back all day long like a robot. It’s a call center which was not explained in any interview. The director, she only cares about numbers and loves to get rid of people. Instead looking for something bad try helping and bring a solution
