Pros

Not applicable. I don't have even 5 words.

Cons

- Memory compiler releases scheduled on Thanksgiving & other holidays in addition to regular releases every 2 weeks. - Hectic schedule makes it hard to follow what is going in the team. - Not a positive environment to learn and grow. - Senior team mates don't generally provide simple answer to basic queries raised by junior engineers. - Very low pay for junior employees compared to other employers in the bay area. - Bonus and other compensations are not competitive.

Thank you for your service at Arm and the candid review. We see many good reviews about the employee experience at Arm, but we appreciate that you have taken the time to let us know your thoughts. Arm values teamwork, innovation and individuality. We strive to ensure there is a work-life balance within Arm; however, the schedules for engineering releases might conflict as we’re all working to deliver the best solutions for our partners. To ensure we provide not only work-life balance but a flexible working environment, we are carrying out flexible working pilots across our different groups. We also ensure our management teams are equipped to have conversations with their individual team members and find a flexible working plan that works best for those individuals – whether that’s working from home, changing hours to adjust around child care, or condensing their work week. We use our core beliefs of We, not I; Passion for progress; and Be your brilliant self to guide how we work together to deliver results. We introduced core beliefs for leaders to guide our leadership teams to inspire and manage their teams in alignment with our culture and values, which includes sharing information and fostering teams to find their brilliance.

Pros

1.) ARM as a company seems to be good but Physical design group should be avoided at any cost. 2.) Decent benefits (health, time offs etc.) 3.) If you are lick spittle you will do well.

Cons

1.) Clueless and spineless management (It should not be called management at all). Always scared of toe gurus. No checks and balances. 2.) Too many arrogant engineers who think that they know their stuff but they know very little. 3.) Toothless HR. 4.) Bad hiring process (no diversity at all) 5.) No one follows privacy 6)People get promotions based on their servile attitude and not on merit. 7.) Complete lack of professionalism. I can go on and on but you get the picture.

Thanks for leaving a review. I'm disheartened to read your review, as it does not describe the ARM I have come to know and experienced. That said, everyone's experience at each company is different, so I will try to address the cons you have mentioned. The ARM Core Beliefs of 'We, not I, Passion for progress, and Be your brilliant self' are fundamental in the success of ARM as a company, as our employees are what drive the company. This doesn't give other employees the right to bully others simply based on their seniority and ideas, so that is why we have HR Business Partners who are there to help support each team to ensure that each employee is working in a healthy work environment. As with most companies in the tech space, diversity is something that we all have room to improve upon. That said, we do have quite a diverse work force in the Austin office, skewing more diverse within the younger generation. Addressing your fifth point of no one following privacy, this is something we take extremely seriously, as we are a company that relies solely on the licensing of Intellectual Property. If we were to have a lapse in security or privacy, that would be a detriment to ARM, as we would lose a lot of trust from our partners. If you do have any additional feedback or advice to management, I welcome it as without feedback from the employee, we wouldn't know there is an issue that needs to be addressed! -Rick C. Pros

Flexible scheduling Casual work environment Happy hours during business hours Amazing benefits - free medical/dental/vision, awesome 401K match, great RSU grants, and great bonus plan Decent salary

Cons

Some unfriendliness; if you aren't a seasoned employee, they treat you like an outsider Not very thorough training, if you even receive any If are low on the totem poll, you feel it Don't offer coaching/counseling; if you're having problems, they just fire you If you're not in the UK (HQ), you don't get all of the perks

Thanks for the feedback, though we hope you miss us at least a little if you've since left us! Since late 2013, we've taken steps to improve the process flow for training, promotion, retention and overall communication within the company. We invite you to reach out to your former colleagues to see how things have changed around the office.
