Pros

Pays for college, a little extra cash in your pocket, military benefits (VA Loan and etc.), Can make some good connections with others depending what unit you're put in.

Cons

Not enough opportunities for growth, can interfere with civilian life depending on what you may have going on, pay might not be enough if you have to drive far, chance of being a part of a bad unit.

Pros

Meet a lot of people, the training is tough but it is also very fun. You really get out of it what you but in.

Cons

Once you hit E4, it is much harder to promote because it can only happen once a year (October) and there are only a certain number of slots open. A lot of times you will have to relocate to a different unit to get you E5.
