      Pros

      Education benefits, insurance plans, opportunities for leadership positions, comraderie and team building.

      Cons

      management doesn't always communicate their intent sufficiently. Scheduled weekends can change little advance notice. The individual has no influence over deployments, what, where or who with.

      Great benefits, Great emphasis on wellness. Good opportunity for advancement and travel. Interesting work with a sense of satisfaction you are doing something worthwhile.

      Cons

      Current state of turmoil with mission and manpower changes. Potential for long deployments. Incur a commitment even if you decide the job is not for you.

      Pros

      Networking both business and leisure. Travel opportunities (both domestic and international). Unlike traditional active duty miliatry; one individual may wear multiple hats (in charge of multiple duties - missions). It is essential to multitask, to complete the task within the National Guard; in turn prepares the individual for any job at most levels. Education is encouraged and supported financially.

      Cons

      Sometimes depending on the mission at hand; long hours are expected. Long deployments overseas, are sometimes discouraging to families. In addition to deployments, the risk of being under harms way (hazardous work enviroment).
