Do not work here

Pros

There aren’t any. Plenty of other jobs are remote. My last company’s benefits were better. There are truly no significant positives that you couldn’t find elsewhere that could justify the negatives.

Cons

I agree with so many of the other negative reviews that are unfortunately honest and true. Working here felt like being in psychological warfare. There was no way to succeed at the job because they intentionally set you up for failure. I experienced extremely toxic behavior with management including being manipulative, demeaning, and cruel. I heard the same excuses for this toxic behavior from multiple people in management and the people team, the main one being, “We’re a startup.” They insist that being a startup means they need people who “thrive in ambiguity” and use that as the reason to justify the mind games. However, ambiguity was not the problem - the problem was the psychological manipulation. I have many close friends who work at other startups who have had much more positive, typical startup experiences (ambiguous, fast-paced, etc.) The problem is not “startup culture” (ambiguous and fast-paced is to be expected!) the problem is toxic management that trickles down to every management level. Think, The Morning Show! However, they are so convinced that what they’re doing is at best, ok to do, and at worst, an effective strategy, there is no chance of them changing without a management makeover. They shoot the messenger. They fire at the drop of a hat for no reason. They have no sense of direction or expectations. I honestly have no idea why they even hired someone for the role I was in because they had no idea what they wanted that role to be. It feels like their house is on fire. Don’t work here if you actually care about your job, contributing effectively, and growing your skillset. The only way to succeed at working here is figuring out how to win at their games, not how to be skilled at your profession.

Pros

If my review headline didn’t already make it clear, there are very few pros to working at Array. That said, I did have the opportunity to meet some incredible colleagues — many of whom have become friends outside of work. However, I hesitate to credit Array for this, as it feels more like a lucky coincidence than a deliberate hiring strategy.

Cons

Array prioritizes profits over its employees, treating workers as disposable by firing them on a whim, knowing they can easily hire replacements if needed. This mentality is held be the company's own People Team — pretty ironic, right? I’ve worked closely with individuals who have no idea how to do their jobs, but it’s clear that hiring unqualified people for less money takes precedence over bringing in top talent. On top of that, layoffs happen at an alarming rate — if not every other month, then at least once a quarter. They used to offer generic, insincere statements about these cuts during all-hands meetings, but now they barely acknowledge them — maybe a passing mention in Slack, if that. Also, many of the positive reviews you might read on Glassdoor weren’t exactly voluntary — management actively pushed employees to write them. They even considered running a full-on review management campaign to counteract their overwhelmingly negative feedback. So, please take those with a grain of salt.
