Private equity pulls all profits from the top, sets larger and larger goals year after year so they don't have to pay out bonuses as those goals are never met. Practically all middle and upper management has been replaced, so now they do not trust the employees who have been there for decades, constantly second guessing their every decision, micromanaging every project and trying force feed the A2E cult down every ones throats. It feels like it's all about accountability, so they can scapegoat those who don't march in lockstep.

You have probably read all of the other negative reviews regarding the situation at Ascend...I hate it, but I must agree. Most upper level management has already retired from at least one other company. For them it's just a game. The CEO, Fred Poses, frequently states in meetings that "Ascend may or may not be OK, but Fred is going to be OK." It is a very heavy handed company that fires people due to their particular political agenda of the day. The workers need their jobs and thus "keep their heads down and stay out of the sights of upper management." Look, I could go on and on and rant about how bad Ascend is; however, 90% of the folks at Ascend are great. It's the owners that are the root of the problem. Having said that, they are the owners and thus have their satisfaction scaring everyone that they may not have a job the next day. Can't wait to hear the canned response from the new communications director.
