Pros

People are fake. Better than mean people. The logo looks good. Part of the rebranding to mask the company's real issues.

Cons

Benefits are lackluster and getting worse. Part of the budget cuts. Don't get sick unless you can afford it or have something better. The office culture is nonexistent. Eye contact is frowned upon. Don't ask questions. Promotions only happen if someone leaves and even that takes time. No upward track for career growth. Get in and get out. No training. Either you know it or you don't. No diversity. Don't plan on conversations beyond the weather. Bonuses are reserved for certain people, usually upper management. Poor business structure. Rushed projects are layered onto poorly planned projects. No work/life balance. Don't expect a 9-5 work week unless you plan on leaving early and having your coworkers hate you or talk behind your back.

Fair place to start and move on.

Pros

Decent Benefits, autonomy and respected so long as you do the things expected of you.

Cons

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Ascensus is constantly "Promoting" people to "New" endeavors that were perfectly handled by someone else prior. The redundancy in human resources is unbelievable and after three years I couldn't keep track of who did what, nor could others in the organization. There is very little if any, acknowledgement for a job well done and mediocrity is often not only accepted, but the norm. The folks running the sales organization take employees for granted and do NOT recognize talent. This Company has a ton of cash on the balance sheet but will not spend it to keep up with competition. This leads to Ascensus becoming a training ground for people to sharpen their skills and move on to much greener pastures.

Great place to start

Pros

The people are, generally speaking, fantastic to work with. A good amount of time off with pretty good flexibility as well. The 401(k) platform is fair and, when I was there, a decent match. I also found health benefits affordable, although at the time I was only paying rates for a single person.

Cons

Pay is low to start, but worse was the "raise" they gave me after a year. During my short tenure I consistently got rave reviews and praise, but upon trying to move up into a higher position was stonewalled because they required employees to be in a particular job for a certain length of time before even considering promotions.
