Pros

I work for Aspirus MedEvac and most of the co-workers are great. Other than that, nothing great to say.

Cons

-Transport numbers put above crew satisfaction -Management is clueless as to what doing the job is actually like -When issues arise, crew advised to speak up but you're either ignored or blamed for the problem -Mandatory 24-hour shifts, 2 shifts per week which can be very tiring when you're in the ambulance 16-17 hours of your shift -Policies only allow up to 5 hours per shift rest, other than that, if the numbers are up, you're running -The flight crew seems to be rotated back and forth from the helicopter to the ambulance based on management and/or dispatchers' moods -Almost all of the ambulances need to be replaced but aren't. Management applies a band-aid to the ambulance and returns it to service. -No incentive to stay i.e. retention bonuses, $75 bonus to work an extra 12-hour shift and $150 bonus to work an extra 24-hour shift (what a joke as other healthcare systems offer up to ~$50/hour for an extra shift in addition to applicable overtime) I could go on and on but this is the general picture.

Pros

Coworkers work together and support you

Cons

From the CEO down to my department manager, they don't care. Any issues that are found are simply shrugged off or passed around in a never ending cycle of emails until you give up. Wage and PTO capped low and insurance is expensive. No matter your performance, increases are low. They brag about paying in step with Kwik Trip and Kohls (retail jobs) for health care jobs that require, at minimum, an associate degree. No bonuses. "Gifts" are points or cheap, branded merchandise, while the CEO makes huge bonuses. Doctors/PA/NP turnover is high due to a focus on meeting quotas vs patient care. I will not recommend this as a place to work OR receive health care. It is a disaster.
