Pros

Community Management Corporation is one of many homeowners management associations under Associa. The benefits, diversity of people, work environment, and flexibility make it a great organization to work for.

Cons

Community Management Corporation is a growing company with a large number of associations they manage. Repetition of tasks is highly common for most jobs within this organization.

Pros

At least management is under the illusion that they are making a good effort. I'm having a really hard time coming up with stuff here...

Cons

Where do I start? Associa takes over existing property management companies. Instead of improving their operations, they just add a crapload of corporate red tape. Most of the reviews here are hilarious. These people have set there standards so low - you deserve better. The corporate things you deal with: meetings, reports, useless trainings by someone's spouse (yes, from corporate) are a joke - you would just have to work for a good property management company to know it. Most of the people in my office were on medication and nearing a nervous breakdown. The contracts were all underbid and the work was over-promised. As a manager, you had more work than you could possible complete. The office isn't even sure they have all of the keys to the properties they manage. Management complained that an average property manager salary was too high justifying this by saying another employee in another city was making in the low $30,000s and managing 12 properties. That is absolute proof they don't care about their employees. Oh, and the comments about having "good" benefits are especially hilarious. They may be good if you are single, but you can add your family to the tune of over $1,000 per month for a lower plan. They are also misers on your vacation days and time off. You will have so much red tape to get even a cent on your gas mileage that your head will be spinning. Please, Please... if you are considering a position don't waste your time. Especially if you're anywhere in Colorado. Even if you aren't in Colorado, the corporate B.S. and all the red tape are going to make you want to throw up every day you clock in.

Pros

Pro - I could afford not to work here anymore! Some co-workers (not many) actually have your back (if they're still working there!)

Cons

One of the most negative work experiences I've ever had in my entire career (and I've been around for a LONG time). You will put in considerably more hours than you will ever get paid for (it's actually expected) or you will get credit for. Your life, your health and your family will come second..... You may also be expected to work on your holidays! (I saw it MANY times). Expect to work in a "ready, shoot, aim" environment. You will attend a ridiculous number of meetings in a month, take a crazy amount of notes, receive numerous email minutes, drafts and ultimately - nothing will go anywhere once the newer and shinier "trend of the day" comes along (and the whole process noted above will start all over again). You will then be expected to catch up the missed work time from these meetings after hours, on the weekend or holiday(s). No work/life balance of any kind. Saw first hand several long term staff ending up on a leave of absence for stress, and returned to entry level positions, or some had to leave all together. Environment: Super political, back stabbing, interfering, blaming, "gossip central", phoney. Upper management will undermine everything you do. Watch your back if you have ambition, you will be knocked down if it doesn't sit right with the higher ups and their ambitions. VERY HIGH turnover of staff, however, they WILL hire them back months or years after they left (good or mediocre performers). Unfortunately, it brings back old ways and a lot of old politics. Be wary of online Associa reviews as quite a few come from current and past staff (and friends of management) and not actual clients. Remember, the GM is paid to get the numbers up!
