Pros

Exciting to be involved with a company that is advancing the industry and the careers of those within it.

Cons

Change brings change, change is not easy to deal with. Growing pains are never easy. I wish Associa would be even more diligent with the change management aspect of new programs. Real people are effected by changes that bring new and exciting opportunities for others. No perfect answers, but increased opportunities for cross training would be helpful.

Pros

This company is not afraid to blaze their own trail. As a leader in the industry, they continually look for ways to improve employee retention and create a better client experience through technology and innovation. You get the feeling that they truly value and care about their employees. The company pillars, mission and values are not just something they hang on a wall but strive to follow in everything they do. This is a fast paced and very challenging environment that rewards their employees for their hard work. Being here for less than a year, I have found few more challenging but rewarding companies to be a part of.

Cons

Work/life balance can be a challenge at times. Especially in the service industry where client needs don't fit neatly in an 8-5, Monday-Friday box. Being an industry innovator also means going where no other company in this industry has gone before and along with the excitement that comes with that, there are the challenges and bumps of learning and navigating through the change of not doing something the same way because "that is the way it has always been done". To make the perfect omelette you have to break a few eggs.

Pros

being owned by a senator (now former) meant a lot of favorable laws got pushed through to make the government support our company

Cons

I'm only popping up here because I did work there and it was terrible and there's clearly been a letter writing campaign for positive reviews on glassdoor. All the negative reviews are specific, all the positive reviews are clearly written by the same marketing person, generalized and within a few days of each other. No one gives a company 5 stars for "trying hard". So, here's the scoop, if you can get hired in IT, you're fine because the managers are supportive and the rest of the company is scared of what they don't understand. If you get hired in marketing, make sure you realize who has political influence and know how to be political with them. Operations goes through people faster than a sneeze. Project management is highly visible with pretty large egos and relatvely little influence. HR is an oversized department with seemingly little influence other than hiring, firing and talking to each other. Sales isn't given any tools to do their jobs effectively or track their leads. Avoid any management position.
