Disregard for domestic abuse

Pros

Nothing of note, it's a financial institution, pay is slightly below average, benefits are ok. CEO is decent. Very little room for true advancement.

Cons

Discriminatory organization. I had dealt with several years of domestic abuse which lead me into a minor addiction issue. Never impacted my ability to perform the job or put the company at risk. When asked about it I was truthful and honest about what I did and the fact I was dealing with abuse and addiction. Was still forced to resign without any compensation. However they have a history of allowing colleagues to commit sexual harassment multiple times, show up to work drunk multiple times, and continue their employment. When I asked why my issues with abuse and addiction didn't matter they lied and claimed I never said this; unequivocally false statements by them. Understand this company will ignore and does not care about domestic abuse. They will, however, willingly allow sexual harassment, and being drunk on the job to continue virtually unpunished.

Pros

Starting pay was high and raises were generous (at least from 2007-2011ish). Training program is very extensive and really prepares you for the basics of the job when you go out on your own. I met some amazing people working here, and most of them I still consider my friends. If you can get to know your coworkers, the job will feel more bearable for a lot longer.

Cons

Corporate brass is obsessed with "efficiency". This obsession has caused them to adopt completely unrealistic expectations of what humans are capable of producing in 8 hours... Perhaps they've forgotten that people need to use the bathroom, take a mental break and have lunch at some point throughout the day. In addition to higher production expectations, the company decreased appreciation programs such as annual banquet celebrations and awards for top performers to a literally non existent level. This company has severe communication issues between itself and its customers as well. They value what they call "transparency" which as far as I can tell translates to "keep it a secret". This applies to fees, product and policy changes, etc. I'll never be a customer here, especially after having been forced to open an account if I wanted to continue to receive my direct deposit.

Pros

-Decent PTO amounts -Company Match -Pension Plan -Made some friends

Cons

-Upper management plays favorites. It is a 'good ol boys club' -If you quit before you earn what PTO you use it gets deducted from your last check. -They charge you a big fee when you roll over your 401k after you leave the company -Pay is a joke. People were amazed when I told them I only made 12.50 an hour with an unattainable bonus structure and horribly strict merit increase policy. My wife was a TELLER at a local credit union and got 3 raises a year and profit sharing and ended up making 14 an hour as a teller while I was still at 12.50 an hour for the first 2 and a half years.
