      Pros

      Wonderful coworkers and good place to start- if you can work here, you can work anywhere. It all depends on the department you're working in and who your managers are. Many people are very happy at Assurant and have been working there for over 20 years.

      Cons

      This is a very stressful environment to work in. The customers are demanding, there is minimal training and knowledge transfer, and most employees are overworked. The compensation is not that great- take any talk of bonuses with a LARGE grain of salt.

      Good people to work with. Good Benefits,

      Cons

      Hard to make a living selling health insurance for individuals. Phone calls from people whom are sick, unemployed, and can't buy the products are endless. A lot of cancellations for which bonus money is taken away every month. Hard to make a good bonus each month. Base pay is low and should be increased. Healthcare bill is completely changing the way the business is run. May not be around much longer.

      good benefits: medical, 401k, pension plan, child care, school. gym. nice headquarters.Places to relax when stress due to work

      Cons

      not much room for career progression progression more feasible with good connections inside the company lack of management listening to workforce
