Pros

Excellent benefits, work from home, tons of optional overtime available. You are given all the tools you need to be successful within this company. But it takes determination and discipline. I see a lot of people complaining about the attendance policy, and honestly, if you're having trouble with attendance you're just plain lazy. You can miss up to 5% of your scheduled time over a 30 day rolling period. Which if you work 40 hrs/wk, ends up being one full work day per month. BUT when you work overtime, you get attendance credits. So if you happen to miss more than one day in a rolling 30 day period? Put on your big boy pants and pick up some overtime that is available almost everyday.

Cons

Base pay is not great, but you can subsidize that with incentive payouts, and by upgrading the protection plans. Work life balance also not great, as you're usually assigned to a split shift right off th bat. (4 hours in the morning, 4 hour break, 4 hours in the evening). But they do open shift bids often, so you should be able to get pretty close to the schedule you want within a year. Also, they monitor your calls frequently and you will be notified of you're not doing something right. There are certain points that must be hit on every call, no exceptions. And if they have to tell you more than once, you're getting written up, it happens. A write up is not the end of your career here. There are a lot of rules and regulations to live up to, and management understands that, as long as you're trying to improve, you'll be ok. And yes, some natural intelligence is required to fix people's directv equipment over the phone. This isn't a job where every call fits into one category or another, common sense is key. I've been with the company less than a year, I've gotten 2 raises, and I have great benefits. And to the person who said the benefits were 25% of their paycheck... You should probably come to work more so you can make more money. Top tier PPO benefits are $122/month. If that's 25% of your paycheck, you're doing something wrong. Or... Your math skills are not up to par. Either way, sounds like this isn't the place for you.
