Pros
I can't say enough good things about this company. The best way to describe them is honorable. They handle claims with honor, their actions personify their honorable intentions, and they honor their employees - as workers AND as people. I really felt like when I worked for them, they cared about my total well being. Insurance benefits were great, and they do lots of other things to encourage a well balanced life. I really enjoyed participating in the group stretching exercises, weekly walks, and seminars on healthy living. The pay exceeded my expectations at the initial offer. I did not feel like I needed to haggle with them to get paid a decent living wage. They also have all of the usual benefits like 401K , EAP, etc. My claim manager was level headed and very reasonable; I felt that my opinion was actually listened to. This is NOT a "do what I say, because I said so" company. There are lots of opportunities to move up, and there are MANY "lifers" who have been with the company long term.
Cons
The claim system is sometimes slow - but no more than most TPAs. When I was there they offered a schedule that allows you to have every 3rd Friday off; this is far less convenient than an every other Friday schedule that many companies in the industry offer.
