Pros

It use to be "almost a brand" until all the designers that made it so, were forced out by management from the RMJM Leftover Henchmen Crew ... Now all those "Cool Atkins Designs" such as the propeller towers and the waterfall hotel are songs of dead soldiers

Cons

British Male Dominated culture, which, if working outside Europe means you will be harassed constantly and if you ever get past the workload that is dumped on you...and you won't ...

Pros

Hiring of staff within Ground Engineering is excellent. H&S is excellent.

Cons

No consistency between Line Managers within the same office, other offices within the same region or across different regions in the following areas (list not exhaustive): - Salary - based on discussions with peers this is hugely inconsistent. - Line managers decide on salary/promotions and higher management is there to make this consistent. This does not happen, the higher management make no effort to discuss decisions with staff and those staff that moan the most get promotions and salary rises, whether they are deserved....or not. - Working from home - policy states one thing, line managers do what they want. - line managers - some are overly strict, some are overly relaxed. This leads to discontent within teams in the same department and office as they are being treated hugely differently to their peers/colleagues. - No consistency with promotions - some need to do a huge amount more/go the extra mile/consistently deliver projects on time and to programme to receive promotions and others who do not. -Inflexible working - some are allowed to work from home for any reason, others are not, even for very good valid reasons. - no work/life balance and managers close their eyes to this. - Preferential treatment of those with children in every aspect. There are no role/grade outlines within the department therefore it is at management discretion regarding salary reviews, promotions and bonuses. Senior management above line managers are supposed to ensure there is a consistent approach to this across the board which they do not. They take the easy/none confrontational route and do not take an independent/no biased view - just agree with line managers. - Line Managers allowed to manage close friends and preferentially promote them even when better options are available. - Very poor attitude and management of those with mental health problems. - HR are not helpful or knowledgeable. - suggestion - at interview - ask to see their independent employee survey results for the department you will work for, how they compare to other departments, and within the industry generally. - resistant to change, don't listen to advice
