      Pros

      Bottom line always first You are a commodity You're health and well-being isn't taken seriously Self training is king and you are deemed an expert after 2 days training (no matter how many skills you are asked to learn in quick succession). Then on to client site Not given work in what you may have spent time learning before having to quickly self train in another skill. If you hear the line at interview we want someone who can learn... RUN!

      Cons

      If you have a disability (protected) don't declare it. Your life will be made difficult if you assert your rights if management have chosen to ignore company doctors recommendations Line Management call the shots. HR disappointing

      Pros

      If you want a cushy job with very little pressure Atkins is the place for you.

      Cons

      The senior management don't understand or value all parts of this complex business. Constant shareholder Pressures.

      IT staff morale at an all time low...

      Pros

      Broadly and historically a good company to work for, good colleagues, decent pay and work life balance. Good locations and offices. There are some really clever people working across the business.

      Cons

      Management have seemed to disregard the staff morale issues - eg: after yet another round of redundancies (a far too regular occurrence - associated with every new CIO we've had) my dept. aren't even having an Xmas party... We've been told to go off with our teams and sort it out ourselves! Due to these redundancies we have lost good people and it seems we've replaced them with more management, leading to more unhappy and insecure staff who have now left of their own accord.
