There is no clear procedures on how employees get promoted in the organisation. Guidelines are very vague and left to interpretation, which allows a close and powerful group of people in senior management to promote like minded individuals, with no place for diversity. Lack of diversity and inclusion in senior management level (corporate or delivery) is a major issue, and has come up as one of the major areas that where the company needs to improve in a recent survey. Unconscious, and sometimes conscious bias is rife in decision making process in deciding who gets to work on projects or gets promoted. Power is concentrated with a handful of individuals, who often are out of their depths in managing people or projects. Focus is only towards bringing in the money from clients, no matter what. Work life balance is talked about but you are expected to work very long hours.
