      I was headhunted from a competitor. I should have known better. Atkins was not what it claimed.

      Pros

      Very structured and organised firm (but was not for me). There was an early emphasis on induction and training but this was not followed through into the promised opportunities.

      Cons

      Focus on utilisation and profit is expected in this environment but Atkins was relentless in this regard, measuring return on staff as a metric in a machine-like way

      Falling Apart!! They keep firing consultants

      good friends, nice junior staff

      Cons

      It is falling apart, Management fired almost 15 consultants in a day without any warning. Very inexperienced group managers for all groups. Some of the managers destroyed the good culture that was established years ago.

      Pros

      I get a lot of freedom in my role but that's because of my line manager who employs people who work on their own initiative. I'm not sure that this is normal though, although the company does try to foster a culture of innovation.

      Cons

      Salary is crap but this about the fifth reason in a list why people take a job. The company is myopic. Innovation is the latest buzzword but innovation is a no-brainer. An innovation drive started two years ago and the company's fortunes have been tailing off for a while. But innovation is something that organisations should be doing all the time. Knee-jerk responses are common
