      Pros

      They have many talented employees and have interesting projects to work on and solve on a daily basis.

      Cons

      The company operates very much like an early-stage startup — fast-moving, deadline-driven, and constantly under pressure. While speed can be energizing, the combination of aggressive timelines and tight deadlines often translates into extremely long work hours. Many of the project timelines felt unrealistic from the start, which created a cycle of urgency rather than sustainable execution. What concerned me most before I decided to leave was the pattern I observed within the engineering team. The engineers who were doing the majority of the heavy lifting gradually left, largely due to leadership’s tendency to overpromise, coupled with a lack of appreciation and recognition for the work being done. In addition, the company’s capital burn rate appeared concerning, adding another layer of uncertainty. While the company may ultimately succeed, from my perspective at the time, the risks seemed to outweigh the foundation in place.

There is more work to do, including broadening our representation, and we are excited about the company and culture we have built so far.       Great people: I really enjoy the people here. Folks genuinely care about their work and are quick to jump in to help, share context, or unblock you. This is incredibly helpful for newer employees or those coming from non-traditional/career-change backgrounds. Flexibility + supportive management: I’ve found management to be flexible and understanding when life happens. I feel like my manager truly cares about my well-being and works with me to find solutions when circumstances change. Transparent leadership: Leadership communicates openly about where the company is and provides insight into key decisions. In a startup environment where uncertainty can be part of the deal, that transparency helps people stay aligned.

      Cons

      True to a startup, things move quickly and priorities can shift. This isn’t inherently negative—as it’s the nature of startup environments—but it’s worth noting that the pace won’t be the right fit for everyone.

The growth opportunities here are tremendous. Atomic Machines truly wants to see employees succeed and invests in their long-term development. If you’re interested in exploring another department or learning a new skill, the company not only supports it - they actively encourage it. They take the time to understand your strengths, interests, personality, and work style, and place you in teams where they believe you will thrive. It’s rare to find a workplace so dedicated to helping people reach their full potential. One of the standout aspects of working here is the accessibility and authenticity of our CEO.
