Insane Pressure Leads to Endless Stress

Pros

The startup environment felt right for a few weeks. I thought I would be in control of what and how I do stuff. I was delusional.

Cons

The work ambiance is toxic. Employees are expected to work brutally long and exhausting hours. There is no end to their ridiculous expectations. They are always short on staff as they never hire enough people, but assign insane workloads. No one is or can be happy here. Beware!

Groundbreaking Mission, Achievable Goals, and Engaged Leadership

Pros

- Roadmap: AM builds its tech stack on a robust roadmap with achievable milestones. The tech is amazing, and while the ultimate goal is industry-defining, the steps to get there are super achievable, which is what sold me on this initially. - Product-Market Fit: Thoughtful tailoring of especially the early deliverables in said roadmap to the market is of extreme importance for startups to avoid wasting time on pivoting. This is especially true for startups such as AM, and this is very present here. - Robust Structure for Growth: Efforts are actively focused on building internal processes and providing a robust toolset that guides development without constraining the team. While historically this aspect may have lacked somewhat, it's commendable to see a clear focus on structuring for growth now, and the team is super receptive to that, which is awesome. - Clear and Hands-On Leadership: Management team has admirable thirst for technical debt to really understand problems and how to fix them

Cons

- Limited Team Size: One downside of thoughtful scaling is that it doesn't happen rapidly: Teams are small and shared resources need to be carefully managed. - Uncertainty: This is a startup, after all.
