Pros

I can not think of any. Everything has gotten worse since CHS has taken over. I thought the insurance would be better but the pharmacy benefits are very restricitive. Retirement plan is adequate.

Cons

They keep adding responsibilities without change in compensation. Unsafe work practices. I feel I am putting my medical license on the line. Thinking about reporting everything to the medical board if things dont get better soon. Physician leaders are corporate representatives pushing the corporate agenda. They don't listen to your opinion. If you do have an opinion, its best kept to yourself. If not youre considered disruptive and they make it very difficult for you to stay.

Pros

Job security, insurance, growing company

Cons

Poor management at several of the locations I have worked. HR is unwilling to help unhappy employees. Minimal pay increases with increasing work load each year and constant under staffing issues. Organization rules are extremely strict and some are just ridiculous. Most depts don't allow overtime.Aside from Novant system there are no other options for medical jobs because CHS owns everything in this area. Therefore they can treat employees indifferently and pay less than deserved.

Pros

PTO accrues from day 1 401k vested from day 1 You keep seniority when moving from one job title to another (as long as you stay part time or full time) Clinical positions offer overtime for those who want extra money Can hold positions at more than one hospital or in more than one department depending on your job title Opportunities to grow within the company

Cons

Insurance isn't that great Pay is below average since CHS controls the healthcare market in the Charlotte area HR is extremely slow, especially during the hiring/transfer process PTO requests can be difficult to get approved depending on the department. Usually have to find someone to cover a shift for you or just suck it up and work the shift All departments are typically understaffed and usually only fully staffed by staff working lots of overtime As with all hospitals, clinical staff are spread entirely too thin
