Pros

Positive atmosphere. I enjoy working with the staff and management. Nice studios and equipment.

Cons

Some radio stations in large markets are completely voice tracked. In an effort to save money the stations are also running syndication in the place of local jocks. It's surprising to see stations in large markets use so much voice tracking and syndication.

An old boys club where new ideas and diversity seem shunned.

Pros

Free tickets, Nice View, also a great place if you don't have ambition and just want to "coast"

Cons

Abysmally low respect shown for employees, a very obvious lack of diversity in the race, age, and gender of high level employees. If you are a woman, do not expect to be promoted in anything but accounting. If you are young, be prepared not to be listened to. If you are not white, be warned, they seem to have already filled their somewhat apparent "quota" for minorities. All major hires to high level positions over the past two years have been filled from OUTSIDE the company, rather than internal promotions. It seems dramatic, but I really can't emphasize enough how obvious the lack of diversity in age, gender, race, and even hairstyle of many upper management positions is, and it sticks out like a sore thumb in a forward thinking city like Seattle.

Pros

Awesome coffee maker. Makes lattes, espressos, you name it. Four desks have great views looking west from FiDi.

Cons

For the SF market only - Weak product platform, a couple of reps hold all the accounts. Commission structure is laughable, you will only make over six figures as an AE at KOIT (KBLX, KUFX, KGMZ = tough sell), You can make money on KBLX but, have to put up with all the other BS (I'm sure you could find a different station in the market at CBS or CC and make better money even if it was KITS, Digital platform's better than Cumulus worse than CBS and CC, they have flipped most of the PDs and all of upper management, mid management and lower management. There's only 4 reps there that have been there longer than 2 years and they make all the money. The CEO thinks that fragmentation is a bad thing and because radio isn't fragmented as much it is better. However, he forgets that an advertiser can be more efficient and targeted if it only buys say, M18-34 on cable in Alameda. David would have you just buy "The Game" and call it a day, even though there is quite a bit of waste and no ratings outside of A's games, and even then you have to squint to see a .2. Why pay for waste David??? They simply don't invest in good quality people but, if you are in a pinch take a chance. You can't move off the floor!
