Pros

Aurea is a virtual-based company, all of their employees neither contractors or direct hires work from home, so you have this in your favor. There's a lot of work to do also, so it isn't a place for ones whom production levels are low.

Cons

The companies hires contractors around the world but doesn't really care about time regions nor specific laws or local culture. Since work hours are so rigid, you don't have the expected flexibility from a home office. The HR is a bit odd and they don't really have their stuff put together, they don't answer quick enough also.

Pros

- Automated payments each week - Interesting projects in a constantly changing environment - work with talented people

Cons

- constantly changing environment - tests, suitability tests, cognitive tests, tests again, one more time .... are you comfortable with your tasks? Something went wrong, let's test you then. - constant pressure - Many people pretend to be innovators, but they produce nothing except metrics and their own experience. - You will probably need a long rehabilitation after leaving "the matrix". - If they could, they would gladly use your brain as a computing cloud, without your participation.

Pros

Business looks good for 2014. Company is HQ'ed in Austin, TX but its North American employees can live anywhere and are all work-from-home.

Cons

Outsourced HR is impersonal and unresponsive. Aurea's parent company has no North American employees except its execs, so when it was formed all HR functions were outsourced to a third party. Company changed direction several times since it was formed in December 2012 and it was difficult to know from one quarter to the next what the direction was. Company dumped the majority of the employees acquired from another company, including me, within the first 14 months. However that phase may be behind them.
