Pros

You get to work with nice kiddos. You get to see their growth through the programs implemented by your BCBA.

Cons

Scheduling can suck, mileage reimbursement is confusing so you're dealt with wasting your gas and not getting paid properly from it. You're expected to know what to do right when you start, it's overwhelming. If you're working in home, it felt lonely due to not talking to any coworkers, if you're lucky enough you might go to the clinic and you're able to collaborate with other BT's.

Thank you for supporting our families! We appreciate you recognizing one of the many highlights of being a Behavior Technician. At ALP, we all aim for the same goal: client progress. The dedication of our amazing employees is what sets us apart and what we believe makes us special. From a pay perspective, we currently review pay for Behavior Technicians twice a year to ensure we’re in line with industry benchmarks. Our HR team also conducts employee surveys regularly so our employees’ opinions and ideas can be heard. We’re so sorry to hear you’re feeling isolated. Because COVID has changed so many of our daily interactions over the past few years away from in-person to virtual, it can be challenging to feel genuine connections with coworkers. We encourage you to share this with your direct supervisor. Let them know how you’re feeling so they can help find creative ways to help you feel connected to your teammates.

Pros

I enjoyed working here, the staff are knowledgeable and it was fun working with the kids, families, and interdisciplinary therapists.

Cons

Due to the reputation of the field, you'll have to do your own research and be very knowledgeable about "don'ts" of the field. I did not run into any ethical concerns with direct client care while I worked at the company, but each experience is going to depend on the BCBA provider.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughtful feedback. We also appreciate your dedication to doing the work so important to providing care to our families. We know support and teamwork play a critical role in the experience and success of our people. With that in mind, we strive to provide our employees with accessible support, whether from one of our Field Trainers or a direct Supervisor. Ensuring our clients and their families receive the best possible care takes a lot of folks working together. We believe deeply in the importance of training and developing our staff, so everyone feels prepared to serve our families. We offer a number of resources to anyone feeling overwhelmed, including additional support and training from a regional Field Trainer and/or direct Supervisor. We encourage you to reach out and ask directly for specific support to best fit your needs.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a remarkable review! To be the best company, you must have the best employees. We pride ourselves on hiring passionate, caring, and amazing staff like yourself. Thanks for calling out our training. We put a lot of thought and planning into training our Behavior Technicians and making sure they feel comfortable before seeing clients. And we agree, the field of ABA is a unique and fulfilling way to make a difference in the lives of a child and their family. We hope to see you grow with the company and be there alongside you every step of the way!
