Pros
The hours are not that bad if you don't mind primarily working closing shifts. Information and automotive parts knowledge is available through computer training. Benefits packages are available to PSM's and vacation time is given twice a year. Given the right store team, you could have a great work experience.
Cons
Most stores are not properly staffed. If you do not know the Area Manager personally, good luck at being noticed. "The good old boys" system is well established. Vacation time is taken away from you if you can not use it. Yearly raises and performance reviews make it difficult to gauge your professional growth. The YEARLY raise is usually only a couple of cents. Bonuses only given to store manager, team is never recognized for its efforts. Rarely a pat on the back. The company always tells us how well they are doing financially, but it never trickles down.
