      Pros

      I worked in the Ontario Distribution Center as an Advisor. Like any job there were upsides and downsides, but overall I enjoyed my time at AutoZone. I wasn’t there very long but I was there long enough to see that upper management is dedicated to their jobs and showed genuine concern for the Autozoners that worked for them. The promotion opportunities are set only by the desire of the individual. They are there; you just have to go after them. If you are considering going to work for AutoZone as an Advisor it will be the most challenging job you could ever have. I enjoyed the challenge because no two days were the same. I had an incredible team of Autozoners that took pride in helping the “new guy” learn the ropes. They truly made the job fun day in and day out. Senior management was very good about listening to the needs (perceived and real) of their Autozoners.

      Cons

      If you are salaried management, you will be there one hour before the start of each shift and one hour after it ends. That will make for a very long work week; learn to deal with it or find someplace else to work. You could almost double the number of Advisors on the floor on any shift and it would be profitable in the long run. The training program for newly hired management could be more closely monitored. Sometimes I felt like I was left out of the loop because I was a trainee. If you are an hourly employee you need to understand that business will always come first and your personal needs will come second.

      warm friendly atmosphere. company discount.

      Cons

      Management from territory manager up places too much pressure on us to make their unattainable sales quotas. we can only do so much in a down economy... No positive reinforcement all negative feedback.... hard to shoulder...
