Pros

The 20% employee discount on inferior automotive parts. Picking up side jobs from customers who are not knowledgeable enough to repair their own vehicles. Access to specialty tools at a decent price + %20 Employee discount.

Cons

Inferior pay. Autozone considers it a priveledge to be a fulltime employee. Even fulltime employees do not receive a full 40 hour schedule. Employees never receive a fixed schedule, making it impossible to have a second job to make enough to pay a mortgage.

Pros

Payed holidays- but have to work most of them. Theres payed vacation - but dont go anywhere in case they need you to work 20% employee discount on instock items only- no special orders. We get a whole $2 or so to spend on our Christmas party per person per store, hmm lets see we got a whole $10 bill to spend in my store, was gratious of them after a 6 billion dollar profit year.

Cons

Look at Pro's Checkout challenge game... Boost profits by putting something on sale when its still higher than any place else and FORCING employees to sell it. Phone is more important than the customer in front of you at all times"potential sale" offer everything you can and promo's.."5 on the phone" what ever it takes to get them in the store so they can wait in front of you while you talk on the phone to get another one to come in...Managment with nothing better to do, call you just to make sure you do the 5 on the phone and do anything but beg to get them in the store as a customer = Phone shop "Wittr" - have to sell a 25 cent item to every customer or else for 5 times its worth "You have to have it to do the job right" but its not at a fair price and ppl see it, but you have to push it on every customer No pay scale at all = lowest pay they can get away with, nobody is the same, you can start today at more or less than me. depends on what there mood is at the time even though i have been there years longer and know alot more or am the ideal employee ,,,,,doesnt matter to them 1 raise a year..could be anything they want....each store gets $1 more or less to divide up with all the employees at that store.... Changing batterys, bulbs and what ever else in the parking lot...its a coutesy thing they say, but try not doing it.....20 below zero your screwed if the customer wants a battery changed or its pouring rain in a storm and someone needs wipers... No bonuses to any hourly employees ..all salaried get them, even though we're there everyday and are making the sales while they complain about the not being the top store in the stupid games.. Dress code...have to wear- black pants, black belt, black socks(yes they check your socks) with black shoes and what ever color shirt red or grey depends on your position..and its called a dress code instead of uniform so the cheap bastards dont have to help pay for any of it, it all comes out of your pocket.. If you work there you will always be a thief to them no matter how many years your there or have never done anything your always watched as a thief...look at the at the cameras in the stores there towards the employees not for shop lifters as you would think....

Pros

great work, great people.. never a dull moment helping people try to figure stuff out on their own, then they clearly should not be working on their own vehicles.

Cons

none, much better than the last auto parts store i worked at. however i wish there was more of a dress code difference for the store manager, to make it clear to customers
