Pros

Discounted parts - of bad quality. Being able to access the Alldata system, and shop manuals on computer to look up problems

Cons

VERY bad pay, pushy management, no bonus or raise guidelines, dealing with VERY uneducated customers, forced sale of grease packets - FOR EVERY sale - even if not needed, FORCED check out challenge selling baby oil (Lucas Fuel Treatment - $450.00 per gallon) Training on systems does not exist, computer training is a joke. Health insurance is NOT Obamacare compliant, and is rarely accepted at clinics and hospitals in rural areas. Uniforms MUST be paid for by employee at fairly high expense ($14-20.00 per shirt). Why does company pay $1.00 more per hour for Bi-lingual, or ASE certified candidates - but refuses to pay more for college degrees, prior experience or high knowledge level of parts, makes no sense.

Pros

People are very friendly; cafe in headquarters

Cons

People are friendly, but along with that comes a mindset of 'we built this place' and are SURFACE level friendly. You won't get anywhere far here unless you started in a store and have spent the last 20 years of your life working for AutoZone. They only give credit to those they consider to have 'PUT THEIR TIME IN'.

Pros

There are not many pros to working there. The only good part is that when you are hired full time you have guaranteed hours and benefits.

Cons

The pay is very low considering the skills they want. You start as part time for just over the minimum wage. You have to deal with many horrible customers and they expect you to know cars better than most mechanics. They don't pay enough for that.
