Pros

yearly pay increases stock purchase option's "company match" store level crew "team" usually on top of game

Cons

1. upper management set's unsustainable goals! ie: parentage to plus sell "EXPENSE grease packets" is only one example DM's need to be fired, retrained, or retire!!! in south Tx region 2. AutoZone needs to evaluate parts that sell in the area/store for all locations many locations store's need teardown/rebuild very old outdated tiny units. 3. south Tx region is the highest turnover, lowest paid, most overworked, does not promote within region in the whole company. 4. AutoZone needs to invest in building more secondary HUBS in large cities ie: San Antonio has one Mega, two secondary one being recently built 5. stock parts that meet customer demand, 60% of a regular unit parts sold must be picked up from other locations, silly silly silly 6. many DM's expect subordinates to bend backwards and lick their you know......... does not back management team

Pros

Job security. Professional appearance. Benefits.

Cons

Poor work/life balance. Leadership is dishonest and tells you what you want to hear to prevent you from bettering yourself. If you're good at what you do, you will not be rewarded or promoted because leadership needs you in position to benefit them. Nearly a decade with the company without a pay raise for this position. Meanwhile operational management has seen cost of living increases and annual raises upon review. Expectations for target attainment are exceptionally high, limiting bonus potential and keeping salary low. The culture is no longer there and AutoZone no longer is there for their Autozoners. It's all about keeping those up top financially stable while those working excessive hours in all conditions struggle. Four hour round trip commute is expected on top of an 8 hour work day due to constant realignments extending the territory further out each time. This is the same realignment that results in a changing market assignment where you are not compensated for the hard work you've put in elsewhere. This only scratches the surface of how they take advantage of the field team, and most are intimidated if they attempt to approach leadership.
