Pros

The employees want to build cool software that customers want and dedicate their days to achieving this goal. They do provide good salary and great benefits

Cons

Autodesk is becoming a Software holding company, buying up competition and relegating their older portfolio to maintenance mode. The management tends to blame the worker and not other managers for missing margins and lays off workers without thinning the ranks of management. The result is a top heavy company with alot of management and noone to actually execute the plan.

Cons

Large bureaucracy with lots of divisions, departments, teams, and criss-crossing responsibilities Company does medium to large re-orgs every couple of years Lots of mid-level manager with not a lot of growth opportunities Poor to non-existent HR function in terms of professional growth

Pros

Salaries seem to be pretty generous. Product suite is innovative and exciting, which made me proud to be a part of that growth. Surrounded by very smart and articulate people.

Cons

Job description was misleading. I felt pigeon holed when I got there, due to the extremely siloed and bureaucratic org. Lots of aggressive career climbers. Very colorful and creative office environment, but a very corporate culture in the end. No sense of sharing and community. And WAY too many meetings - most of the time with very little result.
