Pros

Salary is competitive. Good people who clearly like what they do. Benefits are excellent. Progressive company with some brilliant people.

Cons

Work/Life Balance is not as good as it could be. Too many layoffs if you are not in California. As such people tend to "horde" information to make themselves look good and justify their position.

Pros

Review for Autodesk Americas -I don't think there is a competitor out there for Autodesk currently, strong company to weather the storms. -6 week sabbatical -Gives you $300 to use towards gym membership -Can bring your dog to work -work/life flexible is pretty flexible, but depending on your manager. -Overall, the perks are very decent. You cannot really complain about perks at Autodesk.

Cons

-Tons of internal politics, leading to bad middle management. The culture here is, "it's not what you know, it's who you know." I've been around for 8 years and under 5 different managers. I can only vouch for 1 that I can say earn his salary. -I witness hiring of new employees and managers, and most of the time, I sit and just shake my head and ask how did they ever get this job. Again, it's who you know. -One manager was trying to win a prize on the radio during work and is still employ to this day. It's also sad to know that everyone in the department knows that the best thing she is good at, is ordering food. It's also sad to know that her manager knows this and will not let her go, "a lot of red tape to go through." -Another employee has been employed for over 10 years and how she gets her work done is to ask 2-4 different employees to complete her work. She reaps the credit and then complains about those same employees if they did her work incorrectly. And get this, she still asks new temp hire's to train her in systems she has been working on for those past 10 years. Again, her manager knows this as well as the whole department, but she is still here. -We have employees here just collecting a good pay check and stocks and of course medical insurance by doing the bare minimum to nearly nothing. They walk their dog 10 times a day. 10 smoke breaks. 10 coffee breaks. 1 hour lunch. 15 minutes legal law breaks for 8 hours of work. Just to name a few. Where do you find the time to put in "work" at your job? -You ever seen the movie Office Space where they have the two independent audit guys come ask every employee "What it is do you do here?" If that happens here, you will start seeing better hiring. I love the company and do recommend you come work here, but expect the politics and dumb employees as well as dumb employees trying to sound smart. The company is doing great because there is no competition, so top executives tend to ignore what's going on below.

Pros

Technology and products are cutting edge. Lots of smart people to work with.

Cons

Old boys club - leadership has entitlement issues and uses scare tactics. Lack of opportunity for advancement.
