      Great people, fun and interesting work, outdoorsy area

      Pros

      ASI is a fun place with lots of hi tech work. This is a place where you can get deeply engaged in the work and grow a lot. It's at the base of a mountain that I love to go running/biking/hiking/skiing on so that's a bonus for me.

      Cons

      This place is not for you if you like the big city feel. The nearest restaurant is about 8 miles away, but limited lunch selections are brought in almost every day. The desks are very open providing very little privacy. This is great for easy communication with coworkers, but not good for any private conversations.

      Pros

      Great people. Very competent professionals. Great benefits. Flexible work environment. Casual dress code. Free staff lunch once a week. Company parties. Beautiful location, if you like the mountains. Exciting technology in a growing industry. Opportunities to work with customers all over the world.

      Cons

      The company's project-based business model leads to inconsistent revenue. Sales forecasts are frequently unrealistic, leading to missed revenue projections. Lots of financial ups and downs. It'd be great to have a steady source of revenue. Leadership has been talking about transitioning to a product company for a long time, but there isn't a clear, unified approach to get there. As a result, it feels like nothing is changing. If everyone can get on the same page and know what direction we're heading, the company could be really successful.

      Pros

      ASI has a great culture with highly motivated and highly skilled employees. I think it would be difficult to find a company with an atmosphere / culture that I would rather be a part of. Mel, the CEO, is very transparent with where the company stands and where it is headed. He makes everyone feel a part of decisions and changes focused on producing high quality products for our customers. Mel has gone to great lengths to create programs for employees to gain stock in the company and have a vested interest in ASI's success. ASI is located in a beautiful area between some hills and the Wellsville mountain range. The pay is good and it is relatively easy to balance work with family life. There is huge potential for growth at ASI and I am very optimistic we will be successful.

      Cons

      It is always a challenge for a company to transition from being more project oriented to being product oriented. ASI is in the middle of such a transition without the resources of a large corporation. This being said, I believe that leadership is adapting and making the changes necessary for us to get there.
