Pros

Shiny, brand-new campus with a modern, open and airy ambiance.

Cons

1. The company does not provide its employees with workstations or supplies ... yes, you read that correctly. No one has a regular desk to work from, they use whatever's available on any particular day. And, other than a laptop computer, they don't provide the basics to do your job: no pens, no notepads, no paper clips, nothing. That means employees need to buy those items themselves and bill the cost to the company or to their agencies. And, there is no place to store those items when you leave the office, so you have to lug them around with you. The company cuts its overhead costs on the backs of its employees - and we are painfully aware of that. 2. The company is implementing GoogleApps, and it's a big mess. Like the supplies issue, it's an attempt to cut technology costs by working in The Cloud. It has not been very well received, and when you're dealing with a mission-critical technology like your email system and business software, that is NOT a good thing. 3. Communication from management to the employee population is almost non-existent, mainly because of the GoogleApps issue (the company currently does not have an effective email system) and because the company leaders do not know how to engage with their employees. 4. Performance management is practically non-existent. The company has no formal methodology for disciplining or course-correcting employees or contractors. They just fire them or let them get to the point at which the problem is too far-gone to correct. Very loosey-goosey policies. 5. No cafeteria, and no eateries within walking distance. And, they strictly enforce the 60-minute lunch rule. That means employees tend to bring their lunches with them and eat at their (temporary) desks while they're working. It's a pretty sweet deal for the company.

Pros

The job is stable , good benefits in terms of healthcare and compensation for a starting role.

Cons

This is by far the worst company I have worked for. Management is pathetic- they have no clue what their subordinates are doing though they are paid more than 10 times of a fresh graduate employee.Employee evaluation is not based on job performance or workload but purely on impression, people who do no work get promoted and the others work their ass off for years with no reward or recognition or career growth. There is no focus on team work or projects because everyone is interested in impressing the boss by putting the blame on someone else rather than resolving the real issues or understanding the problems. Meetings are merely debate contests with no action items so it is all talk and no action. Too much buraeucracy and different levels for escalations especially with the IT, it takes way too much time to get things done so it is very frustrating.

Pros

Op3 machine operators have it easy. Half is of what they do is working and the other half is just standing around, and or just talking.. Coater operator team is even easier. One quarter is working and the other 75% is talking and standing around. Hours of paid wages per week are somewhere between 60 to 70.

Cons

If your wife works a normal week, you will only get 1 weekend together, every 7 weeks, if you work on the coater.. Your work schedule changes weekly. Monday/Saturday off the first week...........Tuesday/Saturday off the second week, etc. They want to eliminate any overtime, so they stick it to you to set aside a 6 day work week, and only pay you for 5.. Anyone starting at this facility will be starting at the upender. It is a fast paced job, because the 2 slitters associated with it are running at full tilt. Besides upending and wrapping the skids, you have to jump on a forklift, look at the 8 or so sheets to see where they go, and waste time putting in locations or trucks. Demanding, frustrating, and most times impossible. Get your own skids, and no relief person when you take a break. Last years raises ranged from 5 cents to 50 cents. The only other easy job is the rewinder operator. All machines are rated, and if you have areas in your chart that are red, they call you in for an explanation. This facility is a military compound, with all supervisors being ex military people. They can't find maintenance people that want to stay. I have seen maintenance people work 21 day straight, without any days off. I have also seen 2 of them get divorces. Benefits were changed to eliminate retirement benefits. Everyone snitches on each other.
