      A good place to start

      Pros

      Avery is a good place to start a career because of it's rotational programs and opportunity for lateral moves to gain experience. It is also a rather casual and social atmosphere but this varies according to the location.

      Cons

      Management seems to forget about long term goals a lot due to short term pressures. Projects get abandoned and directions get changed too quickly. Career paths are very vague and communication between HR and management is terrible.

      Pros

      Lots of opportunity to move between divisions, if the desire is there. Career ladder was pretty well laid out and a good work/life balance was evident and respected.

      Cons

      It seemed that in IT, if you did not want to end up in Corporate HQ, you could get 'stuck' at a divisional IT Manager level. Also, each division seemed like it's own company - one division could be cutting headcount to make quarterly numbers, but the guys across the street were popping champagne corks.
