Keep your resume up to date and always be looking for another job. As with many small companies, contracts are limited. Also...if there is a woman owner, I saw her once. She has nothing to do with the company.
Cheap, misleading, horrible/non-existent benefits/untrustworthy. If you have any other employment options, please pursue those first. I am not a disgruntled employee, my comments are factual and based on personal experience. I have worked as a contractor in DC for several different contracting companies. Aveshka is by far the worst .
Aveshka has some really interesting work with its government and military clients. Some of its contractor personnel are really high quality.
Cons
Some VPs and HR are amateurish. Don't ever file a complaint regarding hostile work environment, discrimination, or harassment at the client site. They will not protect you. They will terminate you. It happened to multiple people while I was there. They pay much less than their competitors. Expect 50% less than your fed counterparts, at best. Expect hardball job offers with efforts to negotiate ignored or mocked.
