      Impossible to get a Promotion within the company

      Pros

      Salary and bonus plan is fair. Most employees are really nice and helpful. Company gives the last week of the year as holidays for the employees in the HQ office.

      Cons

      It is impossible to get a promotion within the company unless you are a caucasian male. The CEO will only hire caucasian males for his leadership team. It's unfortunate because I've seen some really bright people passed up for leadership roles. CEO is not a very neutral person. Gave his daughter an internship in the highly competitive internship program and had the audacity to announce it in his intern welcome speech.

      My Take On Axalta

      Pros

      Honestly, the biggest pro is some of the people who work here. Most, if not all, of those are from the legacy company. Those folks understand who built this business and what it takes to make it great. They are the ones that care and have the right values.

      Cons

      Most managers have a holier than thou attitude. Most don't make eye contact with you, or even try to say hi when they pass you. They are not engaging and give the appearance that they really don't care about you as a person. The culture is also very harsh. Most people are constantly walking on eggshells and trying to stay under the radar because you never know from one day to the next who will be here and who will have been let go. There is a very poor work/life balance as well.

      Pros

      Good wages, good benefits, lots of potential growth now that it is not under DuPont. We were a cash cow for DuPont and now we get the benefit of how good or business does. Actively going after new businesses and newer technology.

      Cons

      "Good ol boys club" - many people are not qualified for their current positions. People promoted because of who they know or seniority and not based on qualifications or work ethic. I'd you are good at what you do you may get "stuck" in a position until corporate eliminates the "good ol boys club" currently represented by the plant manager who is a very poor manager and more of just a cafeteria monitor and comic relief.
