      Pros

      Axios clearly puts an emphasis on finding intelligent, diverse and responsible co-workers. Jim is extremely approachable as a CEO and everyone makes you feel welcome and empowered to make decisions.

      Cons

      A fully distributed team is great for finding some of the best talent, but occasionally can cause communication lulls where you are waiting for a response from someone in a different timezone or just away from their computer. Agile practice could use some improvement.

      -People are kind, inclusive, and actually supportive -We move quickly but still have real work-life balance -You're encouraged to visit the different offices Leadership: -Pushes you to do your best -Offers direction if requested -Provides transparent info about the company and its performance -Has actually innovative ideas around building a tech/news company -Gives you space to take on more responsibility if you prove yourself

      Cons

      -NY office is growing quickly, but the company is still pretty DC-centric -Still refining how we engage with fully remote teammates, but it's going in a great direction

      Pros

      Supportive, casual, and friendly vibes in the engineering org. The general tone is positive-but-not-saccharine. Very good experience as a remote employee, and video-heavy remote work culture. This feels like a safe environment for hard conversations and failure -- an extremely green flag.

      Cons

      Standard growth-stage startup growing pains -- but they're being handled as well as possible! Some of the ancillary benefits for engineers aren't on par with those of tech companies.
