A culture of transparency and trust

Pros

Working at Axios during the coronavirus crisis has laid bare the strong foundation the founders of the company have built: Employees have full visibility into the financial state of the company, the company has acted swiftly to take care of all workers, there has been proactive communication about new initiatives and employees have the opportunity to ask anything and get an answer in front of the whole company.

Cons

Axios is a startup in all that it entails — that includes growing fast, being flexible and adaptable and working at the pace needed to succeed. For some, that can be difficult to manage.

I have become enamored with Axios!

Pros

Leadership wants to grow and learn from their past experiences. They understand that they may ask you to work hard to complete a goal, but know that they must provide something of equal value in return. The culture is the best that I have experienced in a log time, maybe ever. The teams are filled with great personalities and great people to partner with and learn from.

Cons

More specific direction can come from the top down. I perceive this as an opportunity to make changes from the bottom up.

Kind and thoughtful work environment

Pros

Everyone is really kind and tries to be thoughtful about how they work together and interact. It's a very inclusive workplace that has a lot of room for folks to tailor their coworking style to what makes them most comfortable I'm very happy with the company culture and feel very secure that my work is what matters in my performance evaluation.

Cons

Lots of early career engineers and a ton of recent growth, so there's some wheel spinning on best practices that might be handled more easily with more senior direction
