Pros

Pay is good, Benefits are good, Profit sharing*, Unlimited time off*

Cons

The current president of the company has been shifting the culture of Axon. In a recent all hands meeting they talked down work life balance and at the 2025 company kick off the theme was 'sacrifice' in relation to your life. This is a major shift from the old days where Axon had Family day, and tried to push people to have a good work life balance. Profit sharing was stared because a recent change is lowering it for 75% of employees. Though I'm sure the person that implemented this change will be in the top 25% because they saved money. Again, large shift from CEO's previous mentality even sharing his own bonus with lowest paid employees. Unlimited time off was stared because it requires manager approval. This wasn't a big issue a few years ago, but now Axon runs really lean. And that means you might not have a backup and you might be asked (in a not so kindly way) to work on your vacation to meet deadlines. Or cut your vacation or parental leave early. Not doing so will reflect poorly on your review and provide you with less money, less yearly increase, less opportunities*. Opportunities was stared because there really isn't any room for growth (see running lean above). When you do see someone promoted it's because someone above them messed up bad enough to make their boss look bad.

Thank you for your thoughtful and candid feedback, and for being a part of Axon for over 20 years. We truly appreciate your long-standing contributions and commitment to our mission. We’re glad to hear you’ve found our pay and benefits competitive. We know that without our employees, there would be no business and no products to deliver to our customers. That’s why our team members are our top priority. We offer unlimited PTO, competitive pay, and generous parental leave because we want our employees to feel supported, recharged, and genuinely excited about the work they do. Our mission of Protecting Life is important, and being the best at it takes commitment and sacrifice. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the people behind the mission. From our annual Bring Your Kid to Work day to our Extended Time Off benefit, we’re always looking for ways to help our teams connect, recharge, and feel valued. If you’ve had a different experience, we’d genuinely like to hear more. Please feel free to reach out to peopleops@axon.com. It’s important to us that every teammate feels empowered to take full advantage of the benefits we offer. Thank you again for your feedback and for your long-standing contributions to Axon.

Pros

-transparency -holidays, quiet periods, PTO, ETO, parental leave -fun culture, costumes, annual company-wide event -CEO- Rick actually cares and you can tell it's genuine -change is encouraged, move quickly -mission

Cons

-sometimes I think there is a feeling that our employees are replaceable and dispensable -if you want to work 40 hours or less and not be messaged after hours, this is not the place for you

Pros

Engineers are exceptionally competent and a pleasure to work with! Decent benefits, great stocks, and "unlimited" PTO. Very flexible workspace. Fantastic transparency from high ups, with regular Q&A sessions. Career growth is decent.

Cons

Management is extremely unstable, and has a very high turnover rate. This has a negative impact on team culture and career growth. Product management is virtually non-existent in certain areas, which is a challenge. Also health insurance switched to United, which has way worse coverage.
