Pros

You learn exactly how not to run a business, which is painfully educational.

Cons

- Every move is monitored constantly. Screenshots are taken, productive hours are tracked, and any dip is called out immediately. Stepping away for a break feels impossible without judgment. It is exhausting and relentless. - All tools and systems are pointless and redundant. Multiple productivity platforms do the same thing, wasting time and making every day feel endless. Nothing you do feels meaningful. - The office is miserable. It smells musty, lacks basic amenities, and staff are forced in even when remote work would make sense. Meetings drag on, sometimes late into the evening, leaving no chance for a real life outside work. - Obsession with AI and automation creates constant fear that jobs are disposable. The company feels unstable, and anxiety over layoffs is constant. The combination of micromanagement, useless systems, and daily fear makes this role mentally draining and completely unrewarding.

Axos operates in a highly regulated financial environment, where accountability, visibility into work, and operational rigor are essential. Our productivity and monitoring tools support compliance and performance expectations; they are not intended to micromanage. Our systems and processes are intentionally designed to support scale, security, and automation. We are transparent about its in‑office expectations through the hiring process. We believe collaboration and accountability are strengthened by being present together. Our investment in AI and automation is about remaining competitive and future‑ready, as opposed to making roles disposable. We acknowledge that perspectives and preferences may differ.

Pros

Bonuses were based on performance and generous to generally match actual performance so that was nice but half is stock that is 3 year vesting and most people don't stay longer than a year.

Cons

Pay is what it is but to be told there's no range but then find out there is one later just leaves a bad taste in your mouth

Compensation is guided by a merit based philosophy that rewards individual performance. Pay decisions reflect a combination of factors, including role scope, experience, market considerations, and demonstrated impact. While base pay may not always be negotiable, performance based incentives and bonuses are a key component of our overall rewards structure and are designed to recognize contributions over time.

Pros

Chance to gain hands-on experience in email, digital, and content coordination work. Good internal communication and effective work tools. Competitive pay and benefits. Somewhat rigid processes, but that sometimes prevents confusion.

Cons

Danger of burnout if you don't pace yourself, priorities not always clear
