Pros

The only positive is the below market paycheck you receive. That is the extent of it.

Cons

• Hostile tone from leadership with clear indifference toward employees. • Disorganized communication and constant lack of direction. • Excessive workload with no real support provided. • Poor onboarding and training, leaving employees to figure everything out alone. • Pay does not match the demands of the role. • Little to no opportunity for growth or advancement. • High turnover as strong employees quickly leave.

At Axos, we set a high bar for leadership, communication, and support, and continue investing in strengthening each of these areas. Clear direction, effective onboarding, and balanced workloads are priorities, along with ensuring compensation aligns with role expectations and performance. We remain focused on building an environment where employees have the structure, resources, and opportunity to grow and perform at a high level.

The CRE team is designed to provide analysts with challenging, engaging work that supports professional growth and real‑world experience. This structure is best suited for individuals who are comfortable with ownership, initiative, and evolving priorities. Role expectations at Axos are clearly communicated during the interview and offer process, including scope, workload, and compensation. Employees in any business unit here are encouraged to proactively seek out additional projects and take on responsibility as opportunities arise, which is an important part of operating in a dynamic, performance‑driven environment.

Pros

If you have the skill and the ability, you will quickly learn a lot here. Just keep your mind open for it.

Cons

Have you ever worked under a control freak? If not, you won't like it here. The work pressure is insane, and you are asked to do what they want and how they want it. If you refuse or seek independence, these evil people will find a reason to highlight you as a problem creator. if you bow down to their wishes, you will have no self-respect. It's a terrible mess that makes you feel awful every day. Please beware and make a choice wisely.

As a federally regulated bank, our work operates within clearly defined frameworks and controls that are essential to meeting regulatory, compliance, and risk‑management requirements. This creates a structured environment that supports consistency, accuracy, and accountability across teams. We recognize that this level of structure is not the right fit for everyone. At the same time, many employees value and perform well in environments with clear expectations, processes, and oversight and find it supports their ability to perform and grow. We encourage candidates to consider their preferred work style when exploring opportunities in highly regulated industries.
